A RECIPE FOR GETTING CARRIED AWAY
How hard
could it be?✳
Vintage cookbooks. Questionable combinations.
A modern kitchen and an unreasonable amount of curiosity.
Famous last words. Excellent starting point.

AUDACITY
GOES A LONG WAY
WELCOME TO THE KITCHEN
Some people collect cookbooks.
I want to know what happens next.
I’m Kelly, and my shelves are full of vintage cookbooks. Inside them: familiar favorites, ambitious dinner parties, and recipes that make me stop and read the ingredient list twice.
This is where I follow that curiosity. The plan is to try the recipes, explore the history, and keep a record of what deserves another helping.
A little more about me ↗ON THE COUNTER
The salad chapter.
Proceed with curiosity.
We’re beginning with Southern Living: Our Best Recipes. Its salad chapter is a whole world of fruit molds, savory combinations, and dressings with something to say.

A lot of personality.

There’s a story
in the margins.
The books, the context, and the questions worth bringing into the kitchen.

Hi, I’m Kelly Jayne.
I brought the audacity.
Collector of vintage cookbooks. Enthusiastic question-asker. The person behind Trial, Error, and Audacity, an ongoing excuse to try things I’ve always wanted to try.
Chef Edition starts with the books I already love collecting. Come for the curious recipes. Stay for the experiments, the context, and the occasional “who thought of this?”
